Limbaugh returned to favorite mantra: Terrorists sound like Democrats

SUMMARY: Rush Limbaugh remarked that a new videotape released by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the rumored leader of Al Qaeda in Iraq, "is an excellent opportunity to remind all of you that it sounds just like the DNC [Democratic National Committee] is writing his scripts now." Limbaugh has previously accused the Democratic Party of sympathizing with Al Qaeda.
On the April 26 edition of his nationally syndicated radio program, Rush Limbaugh remarked that a new videotape released by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the rumored leader of Al Qaeda in Iraq, "is an excellent opportunity to remind all of you that it sounds just like the DNC [Democratic National Committee] is writing his scripts now." According to the Associated Press, the narrator of the tape -- who is believed to be Zarqawi -- "said the March 2003 war against Iraq 'was unjust war by the head of infidelity, America,'" and "called President Bush an 'idiot' for announcing an end to major hostilities in May 2003." Limbaugh claimed that Zarqawi "sounds like Democrats," including "[DNC chairman] Howard Dean, [former Vice President] Al Gore, [former President] Jimmy Carter, [Sen.] Harry Reid [NV], [Sen.] Ted Kennedy [MA], [Sen.] John Kerry [MA] ... [Sen.] Carl Levin [MI], [and Rep.] Nancy Pelosi [CA]."
As Media Matters for America has noted, Limbaugh has previously accused the Democratic Party of sympathizing with Al Qaeda. During a broadcast on April 11, Limbaugh accused Democrats of pandering to illegal immigrants to gain voters stating, "[I]f you're Al Qaeda, come on in over the southern border! The Democrats will take your votes as well!"
From the April 26 edition of Premiere Radio Networks' The Rush Limbaugh Show:
There's a newspaper interview or a story in The New York Times, and they review his video, and The New York Times says Zarqawi "mocked President Bush and accused him of lying to the American people." Indeed! The new Zarqawi video accuses President Bush of "arrogance" and said the president had "become a liar to your own people, you claim that everything is under control, and it appears afterward that you are lying."
Now, who does that sound like? It sounds like Democrats. How about Howard Dean, Al Gore, Jimmy Carter, Harry Reid, Ted Kennedy, John Kerry -- who served in Vietnam, by the way -- Carl Levin, Nancy Pelosi, and on and on and on. It sounds like Saddam at his trial in Baghdad: "Bush lied. I had no weapons of mass destruction. Bring me Senator Kennedy as a character witness over here!" I've made this point countless times on my program with great effectiveness, my friends, because that's what I do. That's why I'm effective. This new video by Zarqawi is an excellent opportunity to remind all of you that it sounds just like the DNC is writing his scripts now.

to let everyone know that reichwingers sound like Nazi's. Limbo is Goebbel's global news personified.
In their recent messages, either bin Laden or al-Zarqawi (or both) mentioned how homosexuality is an intolerable abomination. This is an excellent opportunity to remind all of you that it sounds like the RNC is writing al-Qaeda's scripts now.
Fundamentalists need to have their religious views supported by the state, whether they be Islamic or Christian.
It is amusing to me how American fundamentalists shudder at the idea of sha'ria law in the MiddleEast, but they want a more religiously oriented government here.
I think many conservatives would love to have sharia-type law here. It is essentially what they preach all the time: tough on crime, keep women subordinate to men, abolish homosexuality, theocracy, etc. Limbaugh, Coulter, and the conservatives they speak for are utterly of a kind with bin Laden and his followers. "But we don't cut people's heads off!" they whine, when this comparison is made; however, I have little doubt they would if they could. Fanaticism is fanaticism.
Rush doesnt influence anyone anymore. The only people who think the drug adeled fool has anything to say are the 32 percent of Americans who think Bush is doing a good job. For everyone else, the whole conservative schtick is just worn out.
When was that? In case Rush hasn't noticed his president is as about as popular as ants at a picnic. The only thing Limbaugh has been effective at is helping bring the numbers down. Who wants a pompous, divisive hypocrite speaking for them? He even mentioned the other day that he believes there is a third political aprty that is morphing from the Rebulican side and it's known as the conservative party. Without realising what he had said he is admitting that his own kind are sick of him. I hope he keeps right on talking the way he does. It serves to marginalise him and all thepther boorish snobs like him.The more people who are exposed to his crass style of hyperbole that can make the connection between him and the rest of the right, the better off we will all be.
I prefer the ants.
bin ladin's best friend. who else ignored all the warnings that bin ladin was determined to strike inside the u.s.? who held no meetings to discuss terrorism?
While obl was planning, Bush's cabinet was working on restructuring the military to make room (money) available for the continuation of "Star Wars), to this day somewhat like a sailboat, a hole in the water that you pour money into. Ideology in this administration has always trumped reality..I have finally come to the conclusion that most everyone with an (r) behind their names are stuck on stupid. The next time you have the opportunity to ask a question of a republican congressmen "how are you going to pay for the 3 trillion dollars in debt this administration has ran up?" and most importantly - how much of the debt service in sent to a communist country (china)?
It seems when i listen to or read the utterances of the terrorists, they seem to hate America because they view us as decadent, sinful and generally immoral.
When i hear or read the utterances of the various right-wing morons here in America they offer the same complaints about the state of the nation.
Right wing morons have a violent hatred of gays, so do the Jihadists.
the hardcore Jihadists hate Israel and the Jewish people...Right-wingers in America secretly do too but pretend to like Israel and the Jewish people so that they can possibly instigate its destruction and fulfill their own insane Rapture fantasies
The GOP and the hardcore jihadists regard women primarily as chattel
Neither of them are fond of science or reason, preferring to operate in an insular "faith-based" universe where observable reality carries no weight when being argued against what some lunatic wants to sell to their adherents as "the will of God"
One side produces the opiates, and people like Rush ABUSE the opiates...
shall i go on?
Of coarse they're not directly refuting it becuase it's a ridiculous claim. It's just as easy to demonstrate that you rethugs sound like the terrorists. This is what other posters here have shown. Which is in itself a refutation. Sorry you're too dim to realise that and how ridiculous the claim is in the first place.
You should take all joining comments when removing a comment. My post above this is a reply to a troll that appears to have been removed and now makes no sense whatsoever. Just my $.02
In order to protect my life and freedom from deranged religious extremists in the Middle East who would either like to see me dead or converted to their religion by force or by law i'm supposed to support deranged religious extremists from the Midwest who would either like to see me dead or converted to their religion by force or by law.
It is the american "right" and the Muslim extremists who form most of the terrorist threat against us who continuously sound more alike and hold many of the same ideals and principles. The only difference between America's right-wing weirdos and the major terrorists is the name which they ascribe to God
Yes, the Islamic fundamentalists and Rush sound very much alike.
But Rush and his Neo-Con buddies remind me of another lovely guy...
Remember when they were all critcizing Clinton for his bombing campaign in Serbia?
Didn't they all sound like Slobodan Milosevic? Wasn't he criticizing Clinton for that too?
Sauce for the goose...
Sounds as if Rush is smearing the Democrats by likening them to this terrorist. Does that mean Rush will be inducted into Bill O'Reilly's smear hall of shame?
That list is only for far-left smear merchants. BTW the criteria to qualify is different for for far-left smear merchants than for wing nuts. To qualify as a far left smear merchant all you have do is quote verbatim something Bill and he's fellow winguts have said. If he had to keep a list of the far right smear merchants he would first of all have to add himself to the list and he would need more bandwidth to list all the far-right smear merchants out here. In fact he would need a DEDICATED website and staff to monitor all the smears coming from the right. Hmm.... what a novel concept huh?
Comparring the current administration to plantation owners in the slavery south is an afront to all things that are decent, but comparing the DNC to terrorists, well, that's OK.
I'm sure you were just as upset about the plantation remarks when rethugs were making the comments years ago right?
[link to www.m-w.com] the systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion Isn't that exactly what the radcons and brain-dead Bushbots use to control the flighty American public??????????
anyone who criticizes President Bush MUST be a terrorist, is that it? That all you got left in that drug addled mind of yours Rush? And Leatherhelmet - in response to your comments about Kerry? Blow it out your A$$ - I'm not sure where you get your info, but if we want to take that angle how about Papa Bush meeting with the Iranian hostage takers back in 1980 before the election in secret? I mean, if you want to bring up or create unsubstantiated rumors there's plenty of that crap on the Bushes as well
If the Democratic Party is viewed as Al Qaeda sympothizers because they are critical of the Bush Administrations handling of, well everything, you can include the majority of the civilized world as sympothizers as well. Remember the "coalition of the willing", willing to sit back and watch the only Super Power wage a pre-emptive war? I remember the list being quite small, and not having much influence in world affairs. The remaining large majority against a pre-emptive strike remains sympathizers to the terrorist cause? I contest such a view. Just because I hate black liquorish just as much as Al Queda, doesn't mean I am an Al Queda sympathizer.
...was very accurate. That's exactly what you on the left sound like, whether you know it or not. The part about Kennedy being a character witness at Saddam's trial was priceless.
How ya doin' troll? You're either stupid or just trying to be an agitator. It's plainly obvious the same argument (if not more so) could be made about you rethugs.
