Limbaugh: "We've Arrived At A Point Where The President Of The United States Is Going To Lead A War On Traditional Marriage"
Limbaugh Adds: "Pink Smoke Coming From The White House Chimney"

From the May 9 edition of Premiere Radio Networks' The Rush Limbaugh Show:

Media Matters: Changing The Tone, Or Changing Our Understanding?
Media Matters: Fox's 2012 GOP Influence
Media Matters: The Fox News divide that never was

And what's with the three-letter "w" word only the unpatriotic Democrats use? How hypocritical of Limbaugh.
Yup, Rush makes a perfectly logical argument. He's not divorced from reality one bit.
THANK GOD
"Do the roar!"
:)p
Dominca
and
Dominican Republic
are different countries.
Otherwise carry on trashing the pill popper, I'm enjoying it.
Don't recall ever seeing it spelled with just one "b"...
Difficulty: You must use logic and reason in your explanation.
In other words, they got nothin'.
That would be like saying Limbaugh getting divorced 3 times impacts my marriage to my wife.
It doesn't. Not at all.
It's what Jesus wanted!
Still don't think equal civil rights should be put in the states hands. That worked out so well decades ago. My marriage would have been impossible in some states decades ago. Hoping for a federal law concerning same sex marriage.
"They'd probably be too busy worrying that he asked for Ketchup on his DOG ! "
Guess that's a conservative thing.
President Lincoln, my friends, is waging war on traditional labor. The service of our property, which ol' "Honest" Abe--Honest Abe, if there wasn't a..(mumbling)...This president is calling our property PEOPLE. PEOPLE, my friends. He hates the American worker so much that he wants to give slaves rights! Slavery is an American tradition and the president is waging war on tradition.
Next on the program, proud American John Wilkes Booth on his plans at the Ford Theater tomorrow on the Rush Limbaugh Show.
hm? Whats that you say..? Its not legal..?
Well thats a bit weird then, I mean if its not the gays destroying marraige, who else could it possibly be?!?!
Oh well hehehe. Now to make conservative heads explode..Know which state has the lowest divorce rate? Massachusetts.
Nah, won't work- they'll just claim that that was because of Romney being governor there. So he gets the credit, you see- just like with the auto industry bailout.
Besides, Rush, how good could marriage really be if you've been divorced three times (probably soon to be four)?
Traditional marriage is not under fire and will continue just as it always has. Well, for most people. Rush will just continue to get married and get divorced when his wife du jour decides to take her money and run.
Well to paraphrase one of Limpy's kin 'Some men (and some religions) are more equal than others.'
This reminds of Abraham Lincoln:
"As a nation we began by declaring âall men are created equal.â We now practically read it that all men are created equal except negroes, foreigners and Catholics. When it comes to this I should prefer emigrating to some country where they make no pretense of loving liberty â to Russia, for instance, where despotism can be taken pure, and without the base alloy of hypocrisy."
Well, we're pretty much over the "Catholics" thing. But, here it is a century and half later, and we're still sort of hung up on the "Negroes" and the "foreigners" things (as well as the "women" thing, which Lincoln coud have justifiably added to his list). And now, we've added a new minority to be consider "not created equal." That's some real progress we've made there, huh? I wonder how my wife would feel about moving to Russia?
Abraham Lincoln would be absolutely horrified and repelled by what his party has become.
In 1857, Supreme Court Chief Justice Roger Taney, in the majority decision in the Dred Scott case, said this:
"They had for more than a century before been regarded as beings of an inferior order, and altogether unfit to associate with the white race, either in social or political relations, and so far unfit that they had no rights which the white man was bound to respect."
Now, this is not to downplay the fact that black people are, over 150 years later, still subject to this sort of thinking. But, here's a thought experiment- substitute "straight people" for "white race", and "gay people" for the "they" at the beginning and end. Is there any doubt that this is exactly the implicit, if not the explicit, reasoning behind far-right opposition to gay rights, including marriage?
Wait a minute...
Rush, here's the sound of President Obama searching for where he listed "Gay Marriage" on his list of priorities for America:
Rustle, rustle, rustle, rustle, rustle... "Crap, I know it's here somewhere..." rustle, rustle, rustle, rustle...
Why do we keep starting wars against ourselves?
You mean, why do NEOKKKONS keep starting wars against ourselves.
Two reasons:
1. They hate America, and
2. Since most of them are chickenhawks, they're the only wars they'll willingly participate in
I'd dare you, if you have the stomach for it, to take a stroll over to right wing media sites and have a look at the articles there. Count how many of them are talking about some sort of war or another being waged by Obama and the left.
When I was in my young 20's I had more fun than you can dream of when I rented a room from a friend who lived in a very nice part of town for several years. He was from money and the women chased him down for his looks and personality. He worked as bartender at the best clubs in town, early 80's, and he lived life to the fullest. I met and talked to many of his girlfriends and they were the women men dream of. This guy had a trust fund that paid for his trip to Hawaii for spring break because it paid all of his bills if he was a student. I first met him while working at the machine tool company his family owned and then a few years later we ended up in the same class at UC. He offered me the room and I moved in. His family was old world catholic and I liked them a lot. He had it all. He tried so hard to be what he was supposed to be. My friend and I had a conversation with one of his girlfriends, they dated about a year, about sex that I will never forget. She asked us directly why Jerry did not enjoy her body more. We both replied that we didn't know because if she was our girlfriend we would be all over her. She then told us that she had asked him directly why their sex life was so bad when the first night was the best ever. He told her that that was his first nights performance and she would never see that again. My friend and I consoled her bad luck and told her we didn't have an answer. We all moved on with our lives and one day, about ten years later, talking to my girlfriend at the time she mentioned a favorite customer at a restaurant she had managed. I said that sounds like john doe who's brother I used to share a house with. She said the gay one? I was shocked and said I didn't think so and told her his name and description. She laughed and said that's him. The light went off and we talked a lot and I have told many of my friends that enjoyed so many great parties at his house. Not one of us had a clue at the time but looking back we all see how hard he tried to be what he was not. I have seen with my own eyes some one try to change their attraction. It does not work, you are who you are and anyone that tries to make someone be a certain way to meet their beliefs is cruel.
The last person on EARTH who should be talking about protecting "traditional" marriage is THIS 4 times married individual. If you really wanted to protect marriage, you'd outlaw divorce.
If we can keep the busy with the war on marriage, we can win that war on Christmas.
Rush, you have to start doing better, your daughter Ms. Loesch is starting to get crazier than you.
This interview from 1994 is just FULL of Romney flip-flop material.
"...and it's a state issue as you know - the authorization of marriage on a same-sex basis falls under state jurisdiction."
He certainly needs to explain, then, why he thinks DOMA and a constitutional amendment are needed. And if his views on that have changed, then he needs to stop claiming that he has been consistent in his position.
Also, liked the part about health-care. His views there certainly sound a lot like a certain well-known President, don't they?
To paraphrase what John Kerry said about John McCain at the 2008 DNC:
"Before Mitt Romney even thinks about debating President Obama, he first needs to finish the debate . . . with himself."
Why would he care about "traditional marriage" anyway? He's done more to desecrate the institution than any gay or lesbian couple.
1) I've seen these bigots insist that "the gays" identify as gays primarily, and thus separate themselves from "normal" people. This is wrong. From what I've seen, gay people identify as people first, individuals, with the same rights as such as any other citizen. It's the right who insist on the primary identification of them as "the gays," for the express purpose of singling them out as a group to whom those rights can be denied. Gay people no more primarily identify as "gay," as opposed to "people," than short people self-identify, or would allow anyone else to identify them primarily, as "short" only. When they do band together, it's as a necessary pushback to those attempts to otracize them. (Gay folks, not short ones)
2) Is there any empirical reason that that discrimination should be allowed? The only possible reasons to object to something that's none of your business, as another commenter here on MMfA noted (sorry, can't remember who), are emotional or religious in nature. IOW- personal conviction. Not a good basis for deciding public policy which affects everyone, including those, like it or not, who are bona-fide US citizens, entitled to equal treatment under and protection by the law.

We must protect the sanctity of Divorce at all costs!
Who has destroyed more marriages, Barack Obama or Rush Limbaugh?
After watching you make a total and complete fool of yourself on the subject of Joseph Kony and his Lord's Resistance Army and then the entire 3 day Sandra Fluke rant debacle, I am persuaded that you are not the one in control of EIB or the Rush Limbaugh Show.
In that "Stack of Stuff" you mention everyday, is a list from someone above you, who is really calling the shots on your show. It is a list of issues and people and the dictated list of things which you must say about those issues and those people.
You are now nothing more than a hollow shell of a man, dangled daily on the strings of some unseen puppeteer/s.
Only Newt Gingrift chiming in on this subject would trump Limpys load of hot air.
