This is a long article, but worth reading as it juxtaposes the NRA against Planned Parenthood with some interesting history. The part I excerpted above is under the heading Race, Guns and Reagan's Grand Flip-Flop if you don't want to read the whole thing.
They'll believe hook, line and sinker in conspiracy theories like this one, but when it comes to science and history, they are dumbfounded by it all.

Personally, I realized a few years ago that the "gun genie" is out of the bottle and it can't go back in. I simply want a strong licensing, carry and training requirement for anyone wanting to play cowboy. I want real waiting periods, federal background checks, no carryzones and tough licensing for stores selling weapons.
Sigh...America is in love with guns and violence.

Sure he will, Huck -- that's why he signed a bill three years ago that allows firearms to be carried in national parks and other protected areas.
Just President Obama said he won't raise taxes on the middle class -- meaning he's going to raise taxes on the middle class . . . or how he eliminated bin Laden -- meaning he's a terrorist-coddling appeaser.

Stand your ground, laws to prevent showing how easy it is to avoid sales rules, college campuses, guns in bars, assualt weapons....
I have no problem with guns and/or defending your home, but this has gone way to far to the extreme.
Before you start shouting 2nd amendment -- there are limits on other amendments -- strip searches in jails, shouting fire in crowded places, etc. so there is nothing to prevent reasonable limits on the 2nd....It's not all or nothing....
My fear is that he won't...just like he didn't go after real reform on wall street...
Absolutely true, and anybody who thinks about it for a second will realize that all rights must, logically, be restricted by others' rights. You simply cannot have everybody's unrestricted rights running all over everybody else's.
Of course, that's reason speaking- and these folks in the right wing are notorious for exactly the kind of all-or-nothing, strictly binary thinking that needs no reason.
Anyone who claims to be a true Christian would support an amendment that requires every firearm in the country to be sent to the bottom of the ocean. There's no argument on that. None.
It's "Christians" like this charlatan huckster (oooo a pun) that make me proud to be a heathen.
But Reagan almost died at the hands of a nut job with a gun.
Are any of them capable of processing that fact and easing up on the gun obsession?
