      No doubt. Their apparent mission is to blanket the country with regressive State Laws that they've been unable to get passed at the Federal Level. Unfortunately, the rubes in the Troglodyte State Legislatures are more than happy to oblige.

      One of the gems rocketing through Tennessee's Teabagger House of Clowns is one which encourages teachers to challenge Evolution and Global Warming. It's affectionately called the "Monkey Bill".

      As if we have nothing more important to deal with.

      Why don't these people join the police force if they want to fight crime? They can also join the military.

        Zimmerman wanted to be a cop. He even took a 14-week course on law enforcement. I suspect his arrest record and mental instability were too much of an obstacle to overcome, which might explain his aggressiveness. He's one of those people who become police officers because they want power, not because they want to serve. He was described as "territorial" by one of his neighbors, which isn't conducive to rational, objective law enforcement.

        WHY? would they join an organization with 'rules of order' and discipline - when they can walk around free and easy and SHOOT anyone they don't like? Anytime. anywhere! And get away with it. They are heros in their own mind!

      You'd better close your mouth in a hurry, Ben Jealous. Just the fact that you're affiliated with the NAACP means that you're automatically a racist and are guilty of promoting racism when you say anything against ALEC and/or the NRA.*

      *heavy sarcasm intended

      I find it highly amusing when some on the far right scream about the NAACP and racism. I guess the Google function on their computers doesn't work. If they used it, they would discover that there were whites who help found the NAACP.

      ALEC is funded by right-wing plutocrats, and it's purpose is to make those plutocrats richer and more powerful (and all the rest of us, less powerful and poorer).

        that is correct - ALEC is one of the myriad Koch brothers funded front groups. Not only is ALEC big on kill-at-will but also anti-global-warming

          Chris Matthews is in total error, or denial, in disagreeing with NACP'S Ben Jealous over the Travon Martin shooting.

          Jealous claims it was in cold blood and to an extent I agree with him.

          First, Zimmerman had no probable cause to follow and confront this unfortunate young man who was walking from the store.

          He was not committing any crime [other to a racist mind] walking while black.

          Matthews said they had some type of confrontation, which any of us would have if we had someone we did not know following us.

          Zimmerman stalked and killed Mr. Martin after being told by a 911 dispatcher not to confront him over a justification he made up in his own mind with racial slurs included.

          Then after he killed this kid he made up the false claim of a confrontation with injuries included that the tape of his arrival at the police station showed no injuries or any evidence he was in any kind of a physical struggle with travon martin.

          And Police lied for Zimmerman about a struggle in which he used deadly force, which would qualify as obstruction of justice by the police who investigated this incident.

          If this is not looked at as a cold blooded killing then it still qualifies as second degree murder because this kid was unarmed when he was shot and committing no crime.

          I can't see this any other way with the actual facts that we already know, Martin was shot dead by a Zealot-bigot for no reason other looking like a criminal, in Zimmerman's warped mind because of his race.
