      Why do people listen to this lying SOS? I just don't get it. People who claim to be "conservative" hang on his every word and there is NOTHING conservative about him. He's just a vastly overpaid entertainer who says whatever he's paid to say.

        Speaking of "made-up, virtual, economies", I have a hard time wrapping my mind around the level of ignorance it must take to buy Limbaugh's daily "Chicken Little" routine. All we hear is what a total disaster Obama is, and how his Presidency is the end of the world.

        Meanwhile, with no zero assistence from Limbaugh's political brand, we've had 22 months of consecutive job growth, the auto industry is back on it's feet, and the Dow has doubled in value from it's low of 3 years ago. Even if you don't "like" Obama, you have zero credibility if you are unable balance whatever critique one may have without also acknowledging there has been success, and it isn't the end of the world.

        I'll say it again. 99.9% of Obama hatred is rooted in fear. Coming off the Bush disaster, "conservatives" are completely terrified that any success by the other brand completely exposes nude their failed ideology. Rather than self-reflect or adapt, "conservatives" have chosen to attempt to destroy anything that forces them to face their own failings. That's what all this insanity is really about.

      By the way, I caught a few minutes of Fats show today, and he is positively unhinged over the fact that no one was talking about contraception until the democrats did. The President and the democrats started the whole issue...contraception was not even part of the GOP's platform this year (probably because much of what the GOPers have done since getting elected was not discussed by them at all during their campaigns)! I don't know if The President picked this fight on purpose or not, but I sure like to think he did.

          Yeah, and I think it's disgusting. I'm not sure how much attention that the average American pays to these ludicrous and very expensive television ads. Me, personally? I change the channel when one comes on . . . political ads are considered expression of free speech and do not fall under the auspices of truth in advertising. About 99.99% of what's contained in them is pure bull hockey.

      Blimpy is the test pilot for the Troglodytes talking points if the economy continues to improve between now and November. Since good economic news is bad political news for them, the Troglodytes will just pretend that it isn't happening.

      It will be enough to convince the FOXbots and Hate Radio Droolers... they'll find an excuse to hate Obama if unemployment drops to 1%... but will it fool the "Independents" (aka people who aren't paying attention)? We shall see.

          I'm pretty sure the CBO doesn't predict unemployment rates. And I as I thought, doing a little digging here the CBO number isn't a forecast, it is a benchmark.

          The only way we hit over 9 again, is if Congress, does nothing. Considering that they are lacadasical, and can't seem to do anything because it might help Obama, this could be a likely scenario.

          Now, the Federal Reserve made an unemployment prediction that said for 2013 of between 8.1 and 7.4%.

            In part because of the dampening effect of the higher tax rates and curbs on spending scheduled to occur this year and next, CBO expects that the economy will continue to recover slowly, with real GDP growing by 2.0 percent this year and 1.1 percent next year (as measured by the change from the fourth quarter of the previous calendar year).


            If you think unemployment will go below 8 with that outlook your nutz.

            In CBO’s forecast, the unemployment rate remains above 8 percent both this year and next, a consequence of continued weakness in demand for goods and services. As economic growth picks up after 2013, the unemployment rate will gradually decline to around 7 percent by the end of 2015, before dropping to near 5½ percent by the end of 2017.

              As has been explained here many times before, those CBO numbers are their prediction of what would happen if nothing changes or if very specific things change in a specific way. No one with a brain believes that there won't be other inputs affecting the economy.

              The CBO forecasts are tools for use in planning. They are not meant to be prophecies. It's only ignorant people who treat them like they are.

                  No they aren't. They would be projections if absolutely nothing changes and nothing happens (like a boom or another recession). They are like weather forecasts: an idea of what may happen but that may change completely as time goes by.

            From the Federal Reserve

            Economic growth. The Fed has revised its projection of 2012's real GDP growth rate downward since November, from a range of 2.5 to 2.9 percent to a range of 2.2 to 2.7 percent. While this is expected to improve incrementally over the next two years, what is really disturbing is the Fed's forecast for the long-term growth rate of just 2.3 to 2.6 percent.
            Unemployment. The Fed's projected range of 8.2 to 8.5 percent means it doesn't expect the unemployment rate to get much better this year. Even by 2014, the Fed expects this rate to have improved only to between 6.7 and 7.6 percent

      Oh Rush you big silly goose

      I hate to be this guy but would it be ok...and feel free to say to me no, if I went off topic from this and posted a short, roughly 250 words comment about a college assignment I have about media representation of a social or cultural group (I picked Muslims in media) and part oof my arguement was referencing Media Matters for my arguement. I'd like to see if it looks ok, assignment due tomorrow and I'm a harsh self-critique. So I'd like some little feedback...even a, its ok, maybe from someone who might know a bit about jurnalism/debating or just a good arguer of their beliefs.

      Again, I'd love toget feedback but absolutely understand if I was told to just stay on topic....but come on, its either pst here and look for some sensible feedback or post on fox nation :(

      Now, in Mr. Limbo-loon's defense, he did get 'right' the notion of an absolute, made-up and virtual economy; he just merely pointed out the true creators, or rather, clueless perpetuators of the radically Keneysian, socialist, fascist, communist, Maoist, Marxist,etc. policies that was supposed to be 'Merika's nail & coffin starting 11/05/2008.

      Even though the penultimate November election is a ways off and there's no telling what on God's green earth will or won't happen between now and than, you can bet the American Right will most 'absolutely' describe themselves, with their 'made-up' issues dressed in 'virtual' insults & prejudices. Always remember to ask your (un)-friendly neighborhood Reich-Winger who had the largest negative deficit swing in U.S. history and did it while exponentially increasing government beyond any sort of pragmatic recognition! HINT:It was nota Democrat...

        The unemployment rate is coming down. I guess you hate that, though. I do dislike at how slow it's coming down, but I guess that's to be expected with the intransigence of the Republicans. I wish that Republicans would just stop being complete children and actually do something instead of opposing the Democrats at every turn.

        But, at least it is coming down.

      Whenever I hear conservatives go down the drill baby drill drum line to lower gas prices I start asking simple questions that flummox them completely:
      Are you saying the government is going to drill the oil? No? So Exxon or some other company will? Yes? Okay, are you saying we should nationalize the oil companies? No? Oh, so then there will be a law stating that any oil drilled in the US or passing through the US (Keystone) will have to be sold in the US and not on the open market? No? Then if they can drill more oil and don't have to keep it here but are free to sell it to the highest bidder, how exactly is drilling more domestic oil or building a pipeline going to lower our gas prices?

      If it goes further and they say something about "all the oil in North Dakota" I respond. That would be awesome if there was that much oil there. But then, OPEC would slow production to keep the oil prices high otherwise their economies would crash. So, it would probably be best to find a way to avoid oil altogether since we can't control its price which is most likely just going to keep rising. Right?

      At this point they usually switch to another reason they hate Obama.

      It's just amazing.Limbaugh, et al claim Obama can manipulate everything to his advantage..the media,the CBO,real economists,pollsters?.I just can't figure why he then allows Fox News,Conservative talk radio,the radical right,Franklin Graham and the Republican party to call him everything from a baby killer to a traitor to a national security risk and that was just yesterday.Another example of why we need the fairness doctrine and a reversal of the Citizens United decision.Freedom of speech is one thing,deliberate lies about Government and elected leaders is the very definition of treason..isn't it?
