Nerzog, as in this advice only minutes earlier?

Beck declares a "season for awakening" and begs Americans to "do the hard things" and let "the system" "come down"

Sounds like advice for a season of awakening after a lousy night's sleep in your car!

Dangit, mmfa! He was really starting a good megalomaniacal rant there and you cut it too short! What's supposed to happen, Glenn? Will the clouds part and Jeebus will come down to annoint you once and for all as the true leader of the world?

Man, I can't wait to see what happens. He thinks this event will be in the history books but I'm betting the memory fizzles after a week...just like all the other rallies.

Reminds me of the joke where God calls the pope and tells him: "Good news. I'm combining all the world religions into one big one to stop all the fighting."

        Pope: "What's the bad news?"

God: "I'm calling from Salt Lake City."

Well, you know it makes for better manufactured outrage when the progressive-run police department run in the innocent conservatives on the eve of 8/28 simply for camping out in their cars. It wouldn't surprise me that this is the reason for his suggestion to sleep in your car, so he can get at least one of his followers arrested as an example that government is out to get you.

"Look, I'm just a dumb guy, after all, I'm not one of those big educated types with a fancy degree, but I know that during the 60s they didn't arrest those hippies for sleeping in vans at Woodstock ... so why is it, on a rally designed to bring people together ... in the NAME of GOD ... it's incredible to me ladies and gentlemen, just incredible ..."

(soft sniffles as he fights back crocodile tears)

"... ladies and gentlemen, if you're just tuning in, Mr. Harvey Smith and his family were arrested by agents of our progressive power ... you know Washington isn't a state, right, so these so-called 'local cops,' you know ... you know they're working directly for ... well, folks, you know I'm not saying that the progressives are evil, ha ha ha ... you know I'm not saying that they're going to actually start running in law abiding citizens ... but .. what was the crime these people were committing? Seriously? I'm not the smartest guy, but what was their crime?"

('thoughtful' pause as Glenn mutes the mic to keep his audience from hearing him laughing his ass off at his stacks of cash at their expense)

"I'll tell you what his crime is ... what his family was guilty of ... his family was guilty of believing in peace, he was guilty of believing that in OUR country, AMERICA, you can assemble for a peaceful day of prayer and unity while the PROGRESSIVES running our country are desperately trying to tear these things down. More on this after the break, our sponsor for this hour, GoldLine ..."

This experience will brand them, nothing like this has ever been done. He's praying that what is supposed to happen will happen. Frankly, I am getting a bit worried. All of the religious trappings are very unnerving. If he does get tens of thousands to come to his rally, what will it mean? I get the creepy feeling he wants to be proclaimed the leader and carried into office. If not that many people come, it isn't much of a threat, if a lot of people come and get thoroughly turned off by the con, it isn't a threat at all, it could be a really good thing because it ruins his career. But what if he really does inspire a movement? And why is he being so secretive?

I'm still going. I will be on the side lines with my family and with cameras. I'm thinking of going to the Teapotty on Sunday up near the Capitol. I am not going to the Kennedy Center, however, but that event bothers me even more in some ways. He has cloaked that one in wholly religious garb. I have spent my whole life believing that revival preachers are not doing God's work, some of them are just downright evil. I'm already on record believing Glennie is evil, but just how far does he think he can run with this con? Where is the collapse point? I'm pretty sure he hasn't thought through how fast he'll have to run if his con collapses. It's one thing to be driven out of a town on a rail, if you do it on national TV, it's a big thing.

I think you guys are onto something here. If hundreds or thousands of Beckbots show up, and they're told to disperse because Nostradumbass didn't bother to get a permit... there will be violence.

Then he'd have his "proof" that the government had fallen into the hands of New World Order tyrants. He might even have a few Teabagger martyrs cry over.

Personally I can't wait to see what happens at this rally. He has been building this up for months! It is going to be "historic!", "monumental!" "something that people will talk about for years to come!" Yes this will be "written in the history books!' Wow, I am on pins and needles waiting to see what he will do. I mean, it has to be something fantastic right? Not just your everday boring old rally. Is he going to announce that he is Jesus? Or maybe he will claim to have super powers! Or maybe God himself will come down an annoint Beck King of the World! I can't wait!
What will probably happen is that the idiot will make some syrupy speech about the Founding Father's and our need to "take back America!" Then the real surpise will take place. Beck will announce that HE HAS WRITTEN A NEW BOOK!!!!!! Hallelujah! He will thrust the book into the air and say they can all have a copy for $25! The crowd will go wild! Women will faint. Dogs will bark! The men will masturbate furiously! Yes it will be glorious!
And the only way it will be in the record books will be for the amount of man goo on the ground the the amount of bullsh*t that was spewed. LOL

      Hey, just thought of something...

Becky is suggesting his Beckettes sleep in their cars. Okay, probably not what I'd do on a (mostly likely) hot summer night. But since the right has been pitching the scary black man theme I wonder how many will dare roll down their car windows for much needed ventilation?

I scanned a right wingnut site where they were talking about this. They were actually talking about wearing plastic knee and elbow "protectors", hard helmets and putting ROLLS OF QUARTERS in their pants pockets! Then they were talking about how if someone got near them, that they could inconspiciously take care of things.

This was actually on one of their blogs - they were planning for violence and advising each other.

I copied, pasted and took a screen shot and sent it to people who need to be aware that some of those who are attending this "I Have A Scheme" are discussing violence, and were gleefully working out their plans.

unfortunately, his "brand" is more like 666 ...

honestly - the language he is embedding into the minds of his brainwashed is no accident and can be pretty dangerous. He uses embedded commands, which is a covert hypnosis technique. He has a large audience who are already in a semi-hypnotic state because they are driving while listening to him.

He knows exactly what he is doing and has a seditious intent to incite people against our government; to rise up and do his dirty work while he claims to be an innocent victim.

It's a real shame that we have to sit back and watch what he is doing to people and know that nobody is doing anything to stop him.

I think that MMFA is doing something to oppose him. I think by posting here, we do something to oppose him. We get it on the record, and unlike Glennie, the record will be made available. I've gone to his rallies to show my opposition and to document exactly what is going on. He hasn't done anything yet that is illegal or truly immoral, but he skirts the sides of it. You can't just drag the average person in America (or anywhere else, for that matter) into doing something they know to be illegal or immoral. You have to prime them first, you have to strip away their inhabitions. You also have to be very careful not to tip your hand to the con. We need to keep watching Glennie to sound the alarm when he starts crossing the line.

I know you are right; the "nobody" I was referring to is the FCC or the law. We are in such a politically scared society right now that those with the power to stop him (his bosses) will not and those who could legitimately make a case that he is trying to turn people against the government (FCC, law enforcement) can't yet because he hasn't done enough apparently.

It just reminds me of a friend who had a bi-polar, psychotic husband who verbally and physically abused her and then kidnapped their child. When she went to the police she was told that she could not keep the child from him because he had not "physically harmed" her - yet. Threats should mean something. It shouldn't take physical acts of violence to stop someone who is dangerous.

I will take your words of wisdom and continue to watch this lunatic and pray that he doesn't cause his followers to carry out acts of violence.

I'm a Liberal, I'm a Federal employee, and I live "within the Beltway" as they say around here. I have very real reasons to worry about threats of physical violence. I went to the 9/12 rally last year and saw a video that was shown to the crowd. It was by a guy dressed as Tom Paine and talking about revolution. It was seditious by its very nature. A lot of the people out there are talking about "saving the Constitution" by destroying the very freedoms it was supposed to protect. We have to keep an eye on things. And we have to be prepared with real facts to combat the ignorance being spread. We really do HAVE to wait until he does something that is criminally, provably illegal. That is what the Constitution is based on, we can't go on suspicions and conspiracy unless we can prove that real people will be hurt if we allow things to continue. Right now, we can see matches and kindling, but there is no smoke and there is no fire. The price of freedom is eternal vigilance, it always was and always will be.

A quote from Terry Prachett's Guards! Guards! may resonate a bit.

" 'You never listen, do you?' snapped Brother Watchtower. "It was all explained last week, we don't go arround finding anyone we make a king.'

'I thought he was supposed to turn up. Cos of destiny.'

Brother Watchtower sniggerred. 'We sort of help Destiny along a bit.'

The Supreme Grand Master smiled in the depths of his robe. It was amazing, this mystic business. You tell them a lie and then when you don't need it any more you tell them another lie and tell them they're progressing along the road of wisdom. Then instead of laughing they follow you even more, hoping that at the heart of all the lies they'll find the truth. And bit by bit they accept the unacceptable. Amazing."
