      We?

Glenn, if you were around during that time, or had been older, you probably would have been running the hoses, the dogs, and telling America how un-American MLK was.

It will be interesting to see what happens when he has his Teddy Roosevelt/Thomas Paine moment with MLK.

Maybe if he learns a little more about Martin Luther King, his opposition to the Vietnam war, and his advocacy of the abolition of poverty through "guaranteed income", he'll turn on him, just like he did to Teddy Roosevelt and Thomas Paine.

No - Becky was channelling the spirit of Divine, a 300-pound drag queen who was in a few Jown Waters movies:

Divine providence would mean that God chose that day. YOU chose that day, Beck. Wow, now you're going to have to defend yourself before the Throne for Blasphemy. No offense, but that's the ONLY unforgivable sin, Beck. You're screwed!

Oh My God...!!! What a coincidence? This has the hand of God written all over it...! ;>)

BTW, how many personalities does Glenn Beck have? What is with this soft-spoken, humble tone...?

One possible explanation is that Glenn Beck is psychotic.

I would say that the ability to morph from one personality to another so quickly is a sign that Beck is a good actor, except for the fact that an actor's job is to "bring you truth, in the pleasant guise of illusion." Beck brings fantasy, disguised as truth.

Not unlike Nazi German propaganda insisting that Hitler was a super-divine "saviour" of the Aryan Master Race as much as the German People and Nation, methinks--the "Cult of Personality" around Der Fuerher, as it were.

Or, for that matter, apartheid South Africa insiting that the Afrikaners (never mind their being of mixed Dutch, German and French Huguenot lineage) were Divinely Ordained and Predestined to Rule South Africa and Control the Blacks and "Coloureds" (as in those of mixed race) By Whatever Means Necessary, reinforced by the likes of distractions such as observing the Day of the Vow at the Voortrekker Memorial near Pretoria on December 16th....

Yep it was "divine providence" that made Becky pick August 28th. (He acts innocent and says he had NO idea that was the same day MLK gave his famous speech there.) Uh-huh. Yep Jesus picked that day and put it in Glenn's mind because God knows how IMPORTANT Becky is to this world.. After all, Becky recently said a Vatican official came out and told him personally how "wildly important" he is. Glenn Beck---America's savior. ROFLMAO!
I do wonder if he has any idea how stupid he sounds. But I am sure that the knuckledraggers in his audience just eat that kind of stuff up. (They probably have shrines to him in their homes.)

Is this the same "divine providence" Glenn that told everyone to magically show up to the 9/12 rally last year? Because you said that was not organized by anyone (grassroots), it just happened.

You picked the day you moron! You can't tell everyone to show up on a specific day and then say, "Oh, its the hand of God that we're all here now. You heard his voice in your heart to come to the same exact place. He [God] must have wanted this to happen."

But...but...doesn't his audience hate MLK? Wasn't America purer before he exposed it? This seems to a mixed message, especially to the McCain crowd that lived through it.

Not that I'm comparing Beck to terrorists because I'm not. We won't get anywhere by hurling wild accusations at each other. But isn't it interesting, you probably didn't learn this in school...they don't want you to know this, but isn't it interesting that terrorists also believe what they do is divine providence? Now I'm not calling Glenn Beck a terrorist but I can't debunk it. I've been trying to debunk because it's crazy. I don't believe it for a second. But I can't.

What slime this guy is! Those who believed in equality faced violence and death. Having marched with King in Cleveland when I was 12, I felt the hate, even towards a child. Mr. Beck lives in a multi million dollar home in New Canaan connecticut, same as where Ann Coulter grew up. It's considered to be one of the whitest, most privileged communities in the United States. How can Beck even begin to identify himself with one of histories greatest social leader - I doubt Beck has ventured a few mile north to the poorer and more diverse surrounding towns such as Norwalk and Bridgeport.

To borrow from Llyod Bensten, I knew Martin Luther King, and sir, you're no Martin Luther King!

The crazy thing about this scam is that a lot of "c"hristians" will attend it and pretend that they're on a mission assigned to them by God when what they'll really be doing is worshiping Glenda, stroking his ego, and filling his bank account. I would have thought after being so upset after watching Tweety's special on the tea parties, they'd stay as far away from Glenda's little "projects" as possible since he was one of the major reasons why they were out in public acting like fools.

What I'd just love to see as counterweight to Beck's "Refounding America" rally: Having media-jammer and pranker types infiltrate the same and blow the most obnoxious-sounding vuvuzelas available out of South Africa to drown out the speeches @ key moments of insincerity and pathetitude.

Backed by a band of Scots bagpipers playing a medley of such bagpipe standards as "Scotland the Brave," "Flower of Scotland," "Will Ye Nae Come Back Again?", "Comin' Thru the Rye," "Road to the Isles," "Mull of Kintyre" and "Amazing Grace."

He could well use it. As well as the ignorant "white trash" foolish enough to fall for such appeals to True Patriot Love Thou Dost in Us Command (preferably with a lash, or so Beck and his ilk think) ...

Suppose that, for the moment, that it is 1963 in Washington and Glenn Bekkk was the speaker right after MLK. Since he is making the comparison, let's go along with it. Suppose even that he gave a similar speech to the CPAC or the NRA.

Suppose also that he said that there will be a racist black president who has a deep-seated hatred for white people who tramples on the constitution and surrounds himself with Nazis, Communists, fascists--a president who represents everything this rally was against. Then Bekkk says he was chosen by the Mormon God to come and speak today and carry the torch into the future.

News report: Police took Mr. Bekkk away. Mr. Bekkk is on drugs to quell his psychoses and will be held until he undergoes a complete psychological examination. Afterwards, he may be held in a mental hospital for years.
