LIMBAUGH: What the people of Arizona are saying is, they know some civil rights will probably be violated along the way, but they don't care. They want the law anywhere.

You've got Hezbollah in Arizona. You've got Mexican drug cartels operating in Arizona. You've got the steady stream of illegals over the border, and you've got people being killed now in Arizona. They are at their wits' end. Enforcing the law is the overall thing, and if there are some civil rights violations, so be it. That's how desperate the situation is. They want the law anyway.

See, not everybody thinks that civil rights are the end-all and be-all of every single issue. But folks in Washington just cannot imagine that. "Civil rights violations? Oh my gosh. The worst thing we could possibly do is have civil rights violations" -- because it's code words. It's simple code words. "Civil rights violations." You know who that's designed to stir up. And who's Obama stirring up anyway?

We gotta reconnect young people, African-Americans, Latinos, and women for 2010 -- in a video put out by the DNC over the weekend. This is the regime at its racist best. What's the regime doing? Asking blacks and Latinos to join him in a fight. What is a campaign if not a fight? He's asking young people, African-Americans, Latinos, and women to reconnect. To fight who? Who's this fight against?

Civil rights violations in Arizona. We've got to make sure that the state of Arizona plays fair. Who is this fight against?

If I may say something to the leader of this regime, I mean this from the bottom of my heart. We've never had a president like this, who has purposely come to divide people. But he has, and he is. With that video, seeking to reconnect young people, African-Americans, Latinos, and other women for 2010. Against who?

Freedom has no color, Mr. President. Freedom has no race. Freedom is a human right granted by God. It is not to be parceled out by arrogant eggheads like you to people who you think are more deserving of freedom than others. Freedom ain't you.

      Answer: NOTHING.

Mag - It's just pure projection again from the great gasbag. The true racists have successfully turned the definition of racism around to any minority who dares to get an education, speak his mind, or fight for his/her place in the American dream. This is a feel good comment by Rush to his audience. Rush is assuring his audience that they are not racist, it is Obama who is racist because we all know that Rush has never said anything racist, and the teabaggers have never spit on congressmen.

Isn't it funny how agitated racists become when you call them racists?

You are correct; this has become the Troglodyte defense mechanism... if someone points out your racism, put them on the defensive by calling them a racist.

It's the classic "I'm rubber, you're glue" defense... popularized by Socrates when he was in the Third Grade.

They don't care what he's done as President. They just know it because 'no one could sit and listen to Rev Wright for 20 years unless he hated white people.' Those same people will insist that Rush is not a racist even though the list of his public statements that could be interpreted as racist is many, many, many times longer than Rev Wright's.

Actually it is a trumped up charge. I know of no moderate Republican in our group who condones Rush's obvious hate speech. Having been a church worker in the Chicago area, I can personally vouch for programs like Obama encouraged. I myself worked in a huge public housing complex teaching budget, shopping, child care and nutrition skills. It is obvious Rush has no clue what a Community Organizer does. Oh yes, and they have tutorial programs so kids can catch up in school. Community Organizers were invaluable in our program. So perhaps Rush's problem is that he is simply too dumb and too uninformed to even understand the concept and how life changing community workers can be in the lives of some people. But then in his ivory judgmental tower, it is obvious all he does is attempt to tear down anyone who actually did things to help folks. He is to be pitied.

Great comment! I've actually lived in America under segregation while being African American, and Limpy has no idea of what it is like to be viewed as un-American, unpatriotic, unintelligent, lazy, etc., based on one's outward appearance because he's never had to live that way for even one day of his privileged life. Even today I would not be given the opportunity to spew lies all over the airwaves for personal gain the way he does because I'd probably be viewed as not unworthy/unintelligent at first sight. Never mind that I have several advanced degrees in different areas in my field, and Limpy has none.

First off, sorry you had to go all through that. I'm whiter than white (literally, not spiritually), so I can't even conceive of what racism is like to experience first hand. But when I see the old films of Martin Luther King and his followers being violently attacked and harassed for merely wanting equal rights -- I think to myself, "yeah, I woulda joined the Black Panthers, too."

And you're right about the potential reaction to an African-American on the airwaves. Rev. Wright, unlike pathetic bleating know-nothing coward Rush, served his country. But because of a few statements that aren't even close to Rush at his worst, losers like Palin turn him into a villain.

Racism in any form is abhorrent, but the KKK and Aryan Nation have something more than you do, Rush -- they're open and honest in their irrational hatred. You, and anybody else who pretends that you're not racist, is not only disgusting because of your racism, but you're cowardly and dishonest, too. Rather than admit your own hatred you hide behind ridiculous accusations like claiming that OBAMA is racist. That's absurd on its face, and your long history of race-baiting shows that you're lying. You're transparently dishonest, cowardly, and bigoted. And we should take you seriously because...?

One of you folks might want to address Arizona's problem rather than just talk about Rush. What has happened in Arizona and across the southwest is that Federal Government has failed to enforce the federal laws and the federal courts say the states cannot enforce the federal laws. The result is a complete breakdown of government; the rule of law is voided by the Federal government. Arizona is lawless with respect to illegal aliens.

There is nothing wrong with the AZ law, unless you are predicting future law breakings by the AZ state and local
police. If that is the case, we should arrest everyone who might break the law in the future.

Yes, there is something wrong with the Arizona law . . . there is no definition of "reasonable suspicion." The law allows an officer to simply walk up to anyone they "suspect" of being an illegal, and if said "suspicious" person does not have a birth certificate on his person, he can be arrested. Do you carry your birth certificate around with you all the time? As evidenced by the American citizen who was arrested in Arizona two days before the law was actually signed by the governor, a driver's license, social security card, log book, and other employer related documents simply didn't do the trick. The man, who had a brown face and an Hispanic surname, was cuffed and taken to jail. Why? Because he didn't have a copy of his birth certificate with him. His wife had to bring one to the jail in order for an AMERICAN CITIZEN to be released from jail because the officer claimed to have a "reasonable suspicion" that this man was an illegal. What was that "reasonable suspicion"? Do you REALLY want to live in an America like that? I don't.

You do know that reasonable suspicions a term used commonly in law enforcement. Officers must provide what there reasonable suspicion was when they arrest someone. This law does not give them the right to walk up to anyone and demand identification. And from what I have seen you don’t need you birth certificate a driver license of passport will work as well. Please link to this story you keep posting. I call BS there is something your leaving out.

It will only be legal if they stop whites for the same reason, highliter. You cannot single out a single class of people to target with a law. Unless the police also ask whites for their "papers" in the same manner that they ask Hispanics, they are guilty of discrimination.

I don't want to live in an America like that, highliter, if you do, go to a totalitarian country where EVERYONE has to carry their IDs with them at all time. You are over-simplifying the term, highliter. The officer has to have at least some reason to believe that the person has committed a crime or is about to do so. As evidenced by the American citizen who was arrested . . . the officer simply decided that he was Hispanic and that was enough. He showed all of the identification that any white person would have been required to produce and the officer refused to accept it. Why? Because he had a brown face.

Then this officer did not follow the reasonable suspicion standard and therefore violated his 4th amendments rights. This new law doesn’t change any of that. It was a violation before this law and still al violation after.

It is not a standalone law it is for when a person is stopped for other legitimate reasons. IF the officer then develops a reasonable suspicion he then can ask them for proof of citizenship. This law does not allow for someone to be stopped solely for the porous of checking that person’s status. Read the dam law instead of MMFA talking points. Are there going to be cases where and officer abuse that , yes I’m sure there will but some officers do that now, are we supposed to get rid of any law that get abused?

The courts have already rule that it’s constitutional for a police officer to ask anyone for their ID when making a lawful stop

AZ Truck driver forced to show birth certificate claims racial-profiling
The shape of things to come? Sure looks like it. And this incident happened before Gov. Jan Brewer signed the SB1070 into law on Friday. Video and story from AzFamily.com.

PHOENIX – A Valley man says he was pulled over Wednesday morning and questioned when he arrived at a weigh station for his commercial vehicle along Val Vista and the 202 freeway.

Abdon, who did not want to use his last name, says he provided several key pieces of information but what he provided apparently was not what was needed.

He tells 3TV, “I don't think it's correct, if I have to take my birth certificate with me all the time.”

3TV caught up with Abdon after he was released from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement office in central Phoenix. He and his wife, Jackie, are still upset about what happened to him.

Jackie tells 3TV, “It's still something awful to be targeted. I can't even imagine what he felt, people watching like he was some type of criminal.”

Abdon was told he did not have enough paperwork on him when he pulled into a weigh station to have his commercial truck checked. He provided his commercial driver’s license and a social security number but ended up handcuffed.

An agent called his wife and she had to leave work to drive home and grab other documents like his birth certificate.

Jackie explains, “I have his social security card as well and mine. He's legit. It's the first time it's ever happened.”

Both were born in the United States and say they are now both infuriated that keeping important documents safely at home is no longer an option

Do you think Rush will ever mention that Rep. Russell Pearce, the sponsor of the recently passed Arizona immigration legislation once sent an email blast of an article "Who Rules America?" by William Pierce of the white supremacist organization National Alliance (William Pierce also wrote "The Turner Diaries," which inspired Timothy McVeigh to action at Oklahoma City). Rep. Pearce apologized and claimed he didn't read the whole thing before sending it out. Believe me, two paragraphs into the essay and you know what you're dealing with. Rep. Pearce also has close ties with one J. T. Ready, an Arizona activist, one-time candidate for the state house, noted speaker at Tea Party rallies...and a member of Americans First, a quasi-patriot group known for anti-Semitic and racist activities. Ready has been seen on many occasions with Rep. Pearce as well as others: specifically, a neo-Nazi rally in Omaha, NB.

Rush started the day, in the first two or three minutes, by calling Pres. Obama a slimy, Chicago, community organizer. He's not profiling... No, no, not him. He speaks truth to power (his power, lining his pockets via his business model of tearing down all things of the left). It gets so repetitive, one wonders how in the heck his audience doesn’t hear that. I can’t listen to him for more than a few minutes a day (gotta get that blood pressure up, get that 50 year old heart workin’), without hearing the same old tired refrain. His earlier comparing of the US to Rome and Central Americans to barbarians tells you he’s not profiling (sarcasm). And his statements that Arizonans want this or that – how in does he know what they want? As usual, he doesn’t, he just has to fill the time with some sort of invective.
      Sheesh, he’s tiresome…
